Baseball Player Evaluations

Player Evaluations for the 2019 Season

Pre-Season Evaluations (January)

WHERE: 2019 pre-season player evaluations will occur at:

Northshore Sports Complex
14220 NE 193rd Pl
Woodinville, WA 98072
Phone # (425) 485-3238

WHAT TO EXPECT: SVNLL hosts pre-season evaluations for baseball players that are League Age 9-12 (LA 8 players may attend if they would like to play AAA however, attendance does not guarantee a roster spot on a AAA team). Player evaluations assist SVNLL BOD and managers in creating balanced and competitive teams and ensures that your player has the greatest chance of success in Little League game play. Player Evaluations for LA 9-12 are mandatory. Player evaluations are NOT required for LA 4-8 and 13-15 as they are placed in their respective classifications based on their age.

Players will be divided into small groups and will rotate through evaluation stations including dynamic warm-up, hitting, infield, outfield, and pitching. The duration of the complete evaluation can be as little as 40 minutes and as much as 1.25 hrs, depending on the number of other players currently being evaluated. Parents/guardians of players are encouraged to remain at the complex  while player evaluations are conducted. All managers, coaches, and interested volunteers are also encouraged to attend and participate. Should you have a conflict with the scheduled dates/time slots or have any further questions, please feel free to contact SVNLL Player Agent.

WHAT TO BRING: Please register your player before attending evaluations. Please bring a glove and have your child wear turf or athletic shoes (metal cleats are not allowed), and athletic supporter. Bats and helmets will be provided on-site, but personal gear is also welcome. Beginning in 2019, LL requires USA bats at all sponsored activities. The USA bat standards can be found under the "New LL Bat Regulations" tab.

**CONTINGENCY: If your player is unable to attend pre-season evaluation dates you must notify the player agent. If available, a score will be given to your player based on Manager experience from previous season game play or previous SVNLL evaluation scores; your player will still be drafted per league rules. Players with no prior SVNLL experience should attend a winter training session (please see "Baseball Winter Warm-ups" tab) where they will receive an evaluation score. If players are unable to accommodate these activities, they will receive an evaluation score of zero and will be drafted AFTER all other scored players.**

End-of-Season Evaluations (May)

End-of-Season Player Evaluations for the 2019 Sno-Valley North baseball upper divisions will occur in May (TBD). All players from AAA, Coast, and Major teams are strongly encouraged to attend. For SVNLL, end-of-the-season player evaluations not only cap a season, but also provide an additional opportunity to give feedback aimed at individual player improvement next spring for returning players and families. The SVNLL player agent will solicit feedback from the upper division managers on skills of players on their roster. Manager evaluations, when combined with end-of-season and pre-season player evaluations, will form the platform that will be used to create well-balanced teams and offer your player the most opportunity for success during the Little League season.

League age 9-10's will begin their evaluations first, followed by league age 11's, and then league age 12's. Players that are not able to attend the first date can attend the evaluation the second date. SVNLL end-of-season player evaluations include dynamic warm-up, hitting, pitching, infield, and outfield stations. Player evaluations usually take approximately 1-1.25 hrs to register and progress through all of the stations. Players should be prepared to hit machine-pitched balls, catch and throw balls, and pitch to a live catcher. We encourage players to use their own equipment; however, batting helmets and bats will be available for use at the event. Players should wear baseball clothing and spikes. Parents/guardians of players are encouraged to remain at Big Rock Field while player evaluations are conducted. All managers, coaches, and interested volunteers are also encouraged to attend and participate. Should you have a conflict with the scheduled dates/time slots or have any further questions, please feel free to contact SVNLL Player Agent.
