SVNLL All-Star Team Selection Process for Players and Managers

Eligibility

All Players league age 9 to 16 who participated in half of their scheduled SVNLL league games in Coast, Majors, Juniors or Seniors are eligible for their respective All-Star teams: 9/10 year old All-Stars, 10/11 year old All-Stars, 11/12 year old All-Stars, 13/14 year old All-Stars and 15/16 year old All-Stars

Player Selection

  1. All Managers/Coaches (see Voting Formula below) and Players will vote by ballot for a maximum of twelve (12) Players at their respective level of play.
  2. The Manager and up to two SVNLL approved Coaches will be eligible to vote.
  3. Manager and Coaching ballots submitted without a signature will be void and will not be counted.
  4. The twelve (12) Players receiving the most votes will be named to their respective All-Star team.
  5. Players must have a minimum vote count of the Voting Formula plus one or the placement will be determined by the SVNLL Executive Committee. For example: If a Manager/Coach vote counts as 4 and a player vote counts as 1 (the sum of which is 5), the minimum vote count would be 1 greater or 6.
  6. The All-Star Manager will have the option of selecting up to two (2) additional “open selection” Players. This process will be repeated for all All-Star teams.
  7. Managers/Coaches and Players can only vote for Players in their division, i.e.; Only Coast level Managers/Coaches and Players may vote for Coast Players. All Players and Managers/Coaches may vote for teammates as well as Players on other teams. Managers and Coaches are encouraged to consider all Players in their league, not just those on his/her team.
  8. The 11/12 and 9/10 teams will be selected and confirmed before the 10/11 team is selected.
  9. The 10/11 All Star team shall be comprised of 12 Players not voted onto the 11/12 or 9/10 All Star team as follows, in order of priority.
    1. The 11 year old Majors that received the most votes
    2. The 10 or 11 year old Coast Players that received the most votes
  10. Those Players participating in Minors or below are noteligible for All-Star teams.
  11. The SVNLL Board of Directors may elect to eliminate a team.
*Open Selection is defined as a Manager’s option to choose any eligible Player.

Voting

  1. Voting must be completed by June 1 st.
  2. Votes will be counted by three SVNLL BOD members. These three BOD members will be chosen by the SVNLL BOD and cannot have Players in Coast, Majors or Juniors. Completed tally will be presented to the SVNLL Player Agent.
  3. The SVNLL BOD will notify the Manager of the team as to when voting will take place. Voting will be before or after a scheduled game, a member of the SVNLL BOD will administer the ballot process.
  4. In the event of a tie between Players selected, the SVNLL Executive Committee will vote to break the tie.
  5. All-Star Team members will be announced no sooner than June 15 th and rosters will be posted on the SVNLL website svnll.org

All-Star Team Managers

Senior and Junior Team Managers

  1. The Manager with the best win/loss record in their respective division will be the All-Star Team Manager. If that Manager is not available, the Manager with the next best record will be selected. After that, the SVNLL Executive Committee will appoint a Manager.
  2. The All-Star Manager, at his/her discretion may select up to two (2) Coaches.
  3. All-Star Managers and Coaches are subject to final approval by the SVNLL Executive Committee.

11 & 12 Year old Team Manager

  1. The Manager with the best win/loss record in the Major division will be the All-Star team Manager. If that Manager is not available, the Manager with the next best record will be selected. After that, the SVNLL Executive Committee will appoint a Manager.
  2. The All-Star Manager, at his/her discretion may select up to two (2) Coaches.
  3. All-Star Managers and Coaches are subject to final approval by the SVNLL Executive Committee.

10 and 11 Year-old Team Manager

  1. The Manager with the second-best win/loss record in the Major division will be the All-Star team Manager. Should no Manager be available, the SVNLL Executive Committee will appoint a Manager.
  2. The All-Star Manager, at his /her discretion may select up to two (2) Coaches.
  3. All-Star Managers and Coaches are subject to final approval by the SVNLL Executive Committee.

Coast League Invitational Manager

  1. The Team with the best win/loss record in the Coast division will be the SVNLL representative. This team is comprised of its regular season roster, Manager and Coaches.
  2. Regular season rules for maintaining a 12 Player roster is in effect. Replacement Players are to be chosen from the Minor division, not from other Coast Teams.
  3. Managers and Coaches are subject to final approval by the SVNLL Executive Committee.

9 & 10 year old Team Manager

  1. The SVNLL Executive Committee will appoint a Manager.
  2. The All-Star Manager at his/her discretion may select up to two (2) Coaches.

Voting Formula

Weighted voting: Managers/Coaches votes will be weighted to balance Player votes to maintain a desired one to one ratio.Example: If there are 60 Players and 15 Manager/Coaches, Manager/Coaches votes will count as four (4) to the Players one (1).
